Ah, is it already over!

The last night before Granny leaves. Man, our days were filled with game playing and our nights too! This woman doesn't believe in sleep....lol The kids have had a great time and it is great to see her!
Linda and I at Jack in the Box......our stop after Blue Bayou

I love this picture! Look close, his face is black. He rode the bumber cars and apparently rubbed the black rubber. Too cute!

The only way we could get Carson to agree to leave the park was to tell him we were going to Jack in the Box.....he didn't know what it was, so he was excited! lol

Are we having Fun Yet?!?

A Day at Blue Bayou! Granny took us to the park for the day! We had a lot of fun!
Carson rode every ride they would let him and his big brother, Cortlan was there to help!
Logan and Sheldon paired up most of the day! They were enjoying the rides

Patiently waiting to get on the rides......Carson peeking through the fence because he can't sit still....lol

It was hard to take pictures at the water park due to WATER....but we did manage to get a shot before we left. Carson was upset in this picture because he thought we were going home

Logan trying to get Carson to stop long enough for a picture. Logan is a big helper!

Happy Birthday to You!

Wow! Carson is already 4 years old!
He was sooo excited about his birthday. He started by bringing cupcakes and goodies to his friends at school and then came home to find us waiting with cake, balloons and presents! An extra special surprise was having Granny here to celebrate with him.

Ok, Joey was determined I was going to get photographed....yuk

Granny was trying out Carson's viewfinder! I wonder what she saw?

Carson gets a big floor puzzle since he has done all of his! Yeah!
Carson ready to blow out the candles! It was a great day

All Good Things Must Come to An End!

Well, Joey flew out last Monday to go to Houston for the week so I took Mom, Chandler and Blayton home. We had a good time this week, but every good thing must end! The kids enjoyed the area and yesterday we ended our trip with Ice Age 3...I do believe they loved it since there was not a peep during it.
Chandler caught two fish in my back yard, a bass and something else, which Mom(Gran) gladly fried up for him.
This is Mom getting ready to get back on the road!
The boys after eating lunch, who said, do we have to leave? Must be a good sign(smile)

Did you notice that "Carson" popped in every photo....how convenient

This is what we spent evenings doing. We made this homeade Custard which Mom(Gran) couldn't keep her hands off. We also made banana bread and a cherry pie. If that wasn't enough, Gran visited the local Market and picked up peaches, nectarines and watermelon which the kids devoured. I would say no-one went undernurished.....

Day Two of our Visit

We had a good time taking the kids to Francos for a little relaxation and sun, but after only an hour, they closed the pool due to lightning................oh well, we will try again tomorrow! So, we came home and made hotdogs, nachos and then Logan assisted Gran in making some custard!
Mom just taking in some sun............ah

Fun at the Mandeville Beach

While we had Gran, Chandler and Blayton visiting we decided to visit the Fontainbleau State Park. Behind them is the remains of the original Sugar Mill that was on the site. It is a beautiful State Park with lots of mature Oaks lining the roads. The fun started here....

The boys showing off a newly created arrowhead.

Enjoying watching the kids.

An Indian shows his skills in creating an arrowhead. Very time consuming work and he gave the boys one that was created.

Boogie board time!!!

Zoomed picture from the pier. And they thought we couldn't see them.

A view from the pier... these two are getting too old to really care : )

The boys enjoyed the water. Not quite Pensacola water though... But still fun!

Pensacola Vacation

READY, SET, LET'S GO!
Ok, we haven't even left yet, and the boys are already tired!

There is an empty seat, because I am getting the last minute items left! So Usual

FIRST STOP! PENSACOLA TOURIST BUREAU

Ok, now we are getting somewhere, we decided to stop and do a little racing before heading to the hotel.........look at them go.....everyone loved the track, it had a bridge and everything!

Let's not forget to play some games for a mere bouncy ball, two rubber balls and a plastic sword....YES!

WE ARE FINALLY AT THE BEACH!

We checked into our room which was wonderful and just look at the view from our very own balcony where Joey and I spent every morning and evening on.......
It was overcast and getting late, but that didn't stop the boys from wandering into the water

Yes, I decided to stay out of the water, it was actually cold

but we did do some burying in the sand

You will notice that Joey spent much of his time in this position, so be sure to look throughout this blog, ha, ha

Ok, next day it was supposed to rain, so we got into the car and went to the naval museum which I am sooooo glad we did! I would highly recommend this to anyone! Oh, did I mention that it was free

the boys sitting in airplane seats and pretending that they were crashing! Oh, no
Too sweet! You could actually sit in many of the planes and play with the controls

Joey and Carson coming to save the world! You better watch out
of course, you could always wait on Cortlan to save you! HELP!

It didn't rain after all so we decided to take in some scenery in style! We rented a funny car and the boys had a blast!
Look at us coming back from some shopping on the pier

and, at the end of the day I dropped us off at the entrance to the hotel! Are we spoiled or what!
LOOK CLOSELY! BECAUSE SHELDON HAD AN ENCOUNTER WITH A BIG JELLYFISH AND GUESS WHO WON???? HE JUST HAD TO SHOW OFF HIS WAR WOUND

On the third day of our vacation we took the boys on their first canoeing trip! Ok, well, we tried to canoe......first stop, smack into a tree..........this went on for a while and then we all finally got the hang of it!

Don't I look cool!

just hanging out
the BlackWater River was beautiful! It was hot though, so we stopped on one of the many sandbars for some snack and cooling off!

Joey and the boys taking a swim
Yes, Sheldon is pretending to come after Logan with a stick! Such an actor

Row, Row, Row your boat!
That night the boys were starved, so since this was our last night in town, we decided to try one of the recommended restaurants...............GOOD CHOICE!

eWe really enjoyed the decor.........can you see what I see? New Orleans is on the sign....too neat
We are sitting outside on their deck and enjoying the fans above us

Logan was trying to get some dip before Cortlan ate it all!!!!!!!!!
Awe......look at Joey and my Carson
and last but not least, look at the feast that we were enjoying!
Ok, enough of that, back on the beach please! Logan posing for the camera

after our long day out and on the beach, there is nothing like kicking back at the pool and enjoying some drinks from the tiki bar..............what a life
I told you, Joey is in his favorite position taking in the kids playing in the pool
Yes, you guessed it, Joey, even later that evening, taking in the view of the beach from our balcony.....do you think he was relaxing or what.....
So Sad, but every good thing must come to an end......We had a wonderful time and the boys did many things for the first time: saw white sand, saw clear water, saw jellyfish, rode waves, Florida for the first time, saw stingrays, saw a tiki bar, first time at naval museum, first time riding funny cars, first jellyfish sting, first time collecting sea shells, definitely first time being buried in the sand...and lets not forget the first time canoeing......and last but not least, the first time driving in a tunnel that they can remember.....................
